IN SOUND AN ECHO, RACHAEL KILGOUR & SARA PAJUNEN create and perform modern, minimalist arrangements
of old songs that stand the test of time. Kilgour is an award-winning songwriter whose sincere and lyric-driven work ('a heartfelt slice of indie folk' [Billboard]) has been heard at Lincoln Center and The Sundance Film Festival. A classically-trained violinist studying contemporary improvisation, Pajunen is a sound artist, composer and an acclaimed progressive practitioner of Nordic folk music with "extra elusive appeal..." (fRoots). SOUND AN ECHO is interested in bringing new life to the old and remembering how to sing together again.
WHAT IS PATREON? It is a simple way for you to directly support an artist.
Historically, artists relied on one or two very wealthy patrons to fund their creations. These days anyone, no matter their income bracket, can support an artist by donating as little as one dollar a month. It's a kind of micro-patronage! As a patron, you will receive access to exclusive, once-a-month live videos of a new "Sound an Echo" arrangement. You’ll also receive our gratitude and the knowledge that you played a part in putting art into a world that sorely needs it.
